Effective Date: March 2, 2026
NookLab Ltd. (“NookLab”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights available to individuals under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who We Are
NookLab Ltd. is a company incorporated in England and Wales (Company No. 17063153), with registered office at 307 Hotwell Road, Bristol, BS8 4NQ. NookLab is the data controller for the personal data described in this Policy, except where stated otherwise.
If you have any questions about this Policy or how we handle personal data, please contact us at [email protected].
2. Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to personal data that NookLab collects and processes as a data controller, for example personal data relating to visitors to our website, prospective and existing clients and their business contacts, suppliers, and job applicants.
This Policy does not apply to personal data that NookLab processes on behalf of a client in the course of delivering the Services (for example, a client's own customer data, email marketing lists, advertising pixel data, or analytics data). In those circumstances, NookLab acts as a data processor and the client acts as the data controller. That processing is governed by the Data Processing Agreement (DPA) entered into between NookLab and the relevant client, and by that client's own privacy policy - not by this document.
3. Personal Data We Collect
As a data controller, we may collect and process the following categories of personal data:
- Enquiry and contact data: name, email address, phone number, and the content of any message, submitted via our website, email, or social media channels;
- Client business contact data: name, job title, employer, email address, and phone number of individuals we deal with at client organisations, collected in connection with a Client Service Agreement, Statement of Work, or NDA;
- Website usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referral source, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see clause 5);
- Marketing preference data: records of consent or objection to receiving marketing communications from us;
- Recruitment data: CVs, cover letters, and interview notes, where an individual applies for a role with NookLab;
- Financial data: billing and payment details of clients, processed for invoicing and accounting purposes.
4. How We Use Personal Data
We use personal data for the following purposes, on the lawful bases indicated:
- to respond to enquiries and provide quotations - legitimate interests in operating our business, or steps taken prior to entering a contract;
- to perform and manage a Client Service Agreement or Statement of Work - performance of a contract;
- to send marketing communications - consent, or legitimate interests in respect of existing clients (with an opportunity to opt out at any time);
- to maintain accounting and tax records - compliance with a legal obligation;
- to operate and improve our website - legitimate interests, or consent where required for non-essential cookies;
- to assess job applications - steps taken prior to entering a contract of employment or engagement;
- to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including under the Bribery Act 2010 and applicable anti-money laundering requirements.
We do not use personal data for any purpose incompatible with the purpose for which it was collected without notifying the individual concerned.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to distinguish visitors, remember preferences, and understand website usage. Where required under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), we will obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can manage or withdraw cookie consent at any time through your browser settings or our cookie banner (where applicable).
6. Sharing Your Personal Data
We may share personal data with the following categories of recipients, each acting under appropriate contractual safeguards:
- our hosting, email, and productivity service providers (e.g. Cloudflare, Zoho), who process personal data on our behalf and are bound by written data processing terms;
- our accountant, bookkeeper, or professional advisers, for accounting, tax, and legal compliance purposes;
- our banking providers, for payment processing purposes;
- regulators, law enforcement, or courts, where required by law.
We do not sell personal data to third parties. We do not share personal data with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without consent.
7. International Transfers
Some of our service providers may store or process personal data outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as reliance on an adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or an approved addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Client business contact data is generally retained for the duration of the business relationship plus six (6) years thereafter, in line with statutory limitation periods. Enquiry data from individuals who do not become clients is generally deleted within twenty-four (24) months of last contact, unless a longer period is required by law.
9. Your Rights
Under Chapter III of UK GDPR, individuals have the following rights in relation to their personal data, subject to certain exemptions:
- the right to be informed about how personal data is used;
- the right of access to a copy of personal data held about them;
- the right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- the right to erasure of personal data in certain circumstances;
- the right to restrict processing in certain circumstances;
- the right to data portability, where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means;
- the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes;
- the right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month, in accordance with UK GDPR.
10. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or destruction, proportionate to the nature and sensitivity of the data concerned.

Our Services and website are directed at businesses and are not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18.
12. Changes to This Policy

Hope, Faith
& Love
A website built for an orphanage caring for 30 children in Uganda - survivors of conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo who found safety, meals, and a future through the dedication of a husband and wife who opened their home.
A project that mattered beyond the brief.
When we were approached about this project, it was an easy decision. Hope Faith and Love Orphan Children Ministry is a non-profit organisation running entirely on the generosity of donors from around the world. Every pound raised goes directly to the children - food, schooling, clothing, medical care.
They needed a presence online that could tell their story with the dignity and warmth it deserved, and give donors a clear, trustworthy place to give. We donated the full build as our contribution to the work they do.
What we delivered
- Full website design and build, AI-accelerated
- Warm, story-led copywriting across all sections
- Photo gallery showcasing real moments of daily life
- Embedded video section from footage filmed by the carers
- Transparent donation impact breakdown - where every pound goes
- Donation call-to-action integrated throughout
- Fully mobile responsive and fast-loading
Section by section
A walk through the site
Born from tragedy, built on grace.
The opening story section does what no donation page statistics can - it tells the truth of where these children came from. Rebel conflict in the DRC, displacement, loss, and then an extraordinary act of compassion from a couple who simply refused to look away.
The layout pairs real photographs taken at the home with measured, unhurried copy. The tone is honest without being heavy - it invites the reader in rather than overwhelming them.
Moments of joy, every single day.
The gallery section was built around photographs taken by the carers themselves - candid, unposed, and completely real. Mealtimes, birthday celebrations, reading together, children laughing in their best clothes.
We chose a dense mosaic layout that communicates abundance and life. The dark warm background grounds the images and gives them the kind of weight they deserve. This section more than any other says: these children are thriving.
See life at the orphanage.
The video section gives donors something rare - unfiltered access to everyday life. The footage was filmed by the carers on mobile phones: children dancing in traditional dress, sharing meals, going about their days with energy and joy.
We structured the videos in a clean three-column grid with short descriptive titles, so visitors can browse naturally without feeling directed. The dark background continues from the gallery, creating a cinematic mood.
Every pound makes a real difference.
The donation section breaks down exactly where money goes - daily meals, education, shelter, clothing, healthcare, and the small celebrations that remind children they are loved. Each card is specific and costed, because vagueness erodes trust.
The design returns to a clean cream background and card layout that feels grounded and transparent. No dramatic imagery here - just clear, honest information that empowers donors to give with confidence.
If you are a charity, non-profit, or community organisation and believe your cause could benefit from a NookLab website, we would love to hear from you. We consider pro bono and charitable partnerships on a case-by-case basis.
Get in touchGrihaand Co
A property management company caring for homes, flats, and managed blocks across Gloucester. Grihaand Co needed a website that felt as dependable and hands-on as the service itself - one landlords could trust with their investment, and tenants could trust for their home.
A site built to reassure landlords and welcome tenants.
Grihaand Co manages everything from a single let to a full block of flats across Gloucester - lettings, rent collection, maintenance, compliance, and the day-to-day admin that comes with it. The site needed to speak to two very different audiences at once: landlords looking for a dependable, transparent partner, and tenants looking for a home.
We built a calm, editorial-style site in warm cream tones with confident typography, backed by clear service breakdowns, real occupancy figures, and a rolling content hub that keeps landlords up to date as regulation changes.
What we delivered
- Full website design and build, AI-accelerated
- Warm, trust-led copywriting throughout
- A six-card services overview in plain English
- A "Currently Managing" proof section with real stats
- A dedicated Insights hub for landlord-facing legislation updates
- Tenant login and quote-request pathways built into the navigation
- Fully mobile responsive and fast-loading
Section by section
A walk through the site
Everything the business does, made scannable.
Property management covers a lot of ground, so we broke it into six clearly numbered services - lettings, full management, rent collection, maintenance, compliance, and financial reporting - each with a short, plain-English description rather than jargon.
The card grid sits on the same warm cream background as the hero, keeping the page feeling calm even as the amount of information on screen increases.
Real numbers, not just promises.
Rather than asking visitors to take the company's word for it, this section shows an actual managed block - seven flats, fully let, one point of contact - with the figures presented as large, confident numbers rather than buried in a paragraph.
It's a pattern we like for service businesses: show the work you're already doing well, in public, with specifics attached.
A content hub that keeps landlords ahead of the rules.
Property legislation changes often, and Grihaand Co wanted a way to demonstrate expertise beyond the core service pages. We built an Insights section - short, dated articles on topics like the Renters' Rights Act, minimum EPC ratings, and Making Tax Digital - styled as a simple three-card grid.
Each card uses a small custom illustration rather than a stock photo, keeping the section feeling designed rather than templated.
A quote request that doesn't hide behind a scroll.
Wherever a visitor lands on the site, they're never far from a direct route to a quote. This banner repeats the core offer - a free, no-obligation management quote, usually turned around within one working day - in the brand's confident terracotta, breaking up the page's cream and white sections with a clear moment of action.
Keeping the ask this specific and this fast builds confidence on its own: a landlord scanning the site knows exactly what happens the moment they click, and roughly how long they'll wait to hear back.
If you run a lettings or property management business and want a website that builds trust before a single phone call happens, we would love to talk.

Intergen Living
A homeshare service matching people with a spare room to a companion who needs affordable living, in exchange for ten hours a week of practical help and company, across Bristol, Bath, and South Somerset.
A site that explains a genuinely new idea, gently.
Homesharing isn't a familiar concept to most visitors, so the site had to do real explaining work before it could ask anyone to book a call. Intergen Living matches householders - often older, or living with a disability - with a companion who needs affordable housing, in exchange for ten hours a week of practical help and company.
We built a warm, editorial site in cream and forest green, with plain-language copy throughout and a strong emphasis on trust: vetting, care-industry credentials, and exactly how the matching process works.
What we delivered
- Full website design and build, AI-accelerated
- Plain-English copy for a genuinely unfamiliar service
- A "How it Works" section explaining reciprocity from both sides
- A stats-backed About section building credibility fast
- An expandable FAQ answering objections before they're asked
- QR-code and one-tap booking pathways built into contact
- Fully mobile responsive and fast-loading
Section by section
A walk through the site
An offer stated plainly, in the first four words.
The eyebrow tag - "Homeshare · Bristol, Bath & South Somerset" - does the work of locating the service geographically before a visitor has read a single sentence, while "Live life your way" carries the emotional promise without needing to explain the mechanics yet.
Three small pill badges under the buttons - "Spare room → companionship," "10 hrs/week support," "Vetted & monitored" - compress the entire offer into something scannable in seconds, for visitors who won't read the paragraph above them.
Credibility, backed by numbers.
Rather than a generic "About" essay, this section leads with why Intergen Living can be trusted with something as personal as sharing a home: a director who works in the care industry, and companions chosen specifically for being comfortable around age and disability.
Three small stat cards - 10 hrs, 100%, 2 counties - sit underneath as quiet proof, echoing the numbers-first pattern we like to use whenever a service has real figures worth showing off.
Reciprocity, shown as two lists side by side.
The core mechanic of homesharing is unfamiliar enough that it needed its own dedicated explanation. We split it into what the householder offers and what the companion offers, in matching cream and mint cards either side of a simple overlapping-circles icon labelled "Reciprocity."
Three short bullets per side, rather than paragraphs, means the whole exchange can be understood at a glance - useful for a concept most visitors are encountering for the first time.
Answering hesitation before it becomes a bounce.
A service this unfamiliar generates the same handful of questions from almost everyone, so we built an accordion FAQ that opens with the most obvious one - "What is Intergen Living?" - answered in two plain sentences, before moving into who it's for and how matches are actually arranged.
Only one answer is open at a time, keeping the page short even as the list of questions grows, and the plus/cross toggle keeps the interaction obvious without any instructions needed.
A booking route for people not at their desk.
The contact section switches to a deep forest-green background - a deliberate contrast from the cream used everywhere else - and offers three ways in at once: a phone number, an email address, and a QR code that opens the live booking calendar straight from a phone camera, no typing required.
Offering a scan-and-go option alongside the traditional ones matters here, since it's just as likely to be used by someone stepping in on behalf of an older relative as by the householder themselves.
If your business relies on explaining something people haven't heard of before, we would love to help you say it clearly.
Get in touchNote: the sections shown above are a curated selection from the full Intergen Living website, chosen to illustrate our design and development approach, and do not represent the entirety of the live site. The QR code shown in the contact section has been blurred here, as it is a live, functional link to the client's booking calendar.
All Things Care
A home care and care-staffing agency supporting families and care homes across Newport, Cardiff, Bristol, Somerset and Wells, offering everything from hourly visits to overnight and live-in care. All Things Care needed a website that felt as reassuring as the carers themselves - one that turns a worried search into a phone call.
A site built to turn worry into a phone call.
All Things Care provides home care and staffing across South Wales and the South West - hourly visits, overnight support, live-in care, and vetted staff supplied to care homes at short notice. The site needed to speak to two audiences with very different needs at once: families searching for support for a parent, and care homes needing reliable cover fast.
We built a calm, confidence-led site in deep navy and soft blue, anchored by a postcode coverage checker on the homepage and backed by plain-English service pages, honest pricing information, and a growing library of guides for families who don't yet know where to start.
What we delivered
- Full website design and build, AI-accelerated
- Reassuring, plain-English copywriting throughout
- A postcode coverage checker built into the homepage hero
- A six-card services overview covering home care and staffing
- A "Clear pricing, no surprises" fees and funding breakdown
- A resource hub of family-facing guides on care and funding
- Fully mobile responsive and fast-loading
Section by section
A walk through the site
An offer and a postcode box, before a single scroll.
The eyebrow tag lists five towns and cities before the headline even loads, so a visitor from Newport or Wells knows immediately they're in the right place. "You can't always be there. But we can." carries the emotional weight, while a single line underneath spells out exactly what's on offer: hourly visits, overnight support, live-in care, plus staff for care homes.
Rather than asking a worried visitor to read three paragraphs before finding a phone number, we put a postcode checker directly in the hero - the first interaction on the page is finding out whether help is available, not reading about the company.
Six services, six clearly labelled reasons to click.
Home care and staffing cover very different situations, so we split them into six clearly titled services - elderly care, adult services, hourly home care, daily home care, hospital-to-home care, and respite care - each with its own short promise and a Learn more link through to the full page.
The grid sits on the same dark navy as the hero, so the page keeps its calm, confident feel even as the amount of information on screen increases.
Credibility, backed by numbers and a real photograph.
Rather than a generic company history, the About section leads with why the agency exists: it was built by people tired of watching good carers rushed through fifteen-minute visits. A real photograph of a carer at work sits alongside three stat cards - 5 areas covered, 24/7 on-call support, 100% DBS-checked and insured - as quiet proof rather than a sales pitch.
It's the same numbers-first pattern we like to use whenever a service has real figures worth showing off, paired here with a photograph that makes the claim feel lived-in rather than stated.
Pricing that doesn't hide until the phone call.
Care pricing is notoriously opaque, so this section states plainly that packages are quoted individually depending on hours, support type and location, then backs that up with a simple rate list for hourly visits, overnight and live-in care, council funding, and agency shifts, plus a clear promise of no joining fees and no tie-ins.
Being upfront about pricing structure, even without fixed numbers on the page, does real work here - it tells a hesitant visitor exactly what kind of conversation they're about to have before they ever pick up the phone.
One line, one button, wherever you land.
The closing band repeats the core offer in four words - free, no-obligation assessment - alongside a direct phone number set in large type, so a visitor who has scrolled straight to the bottom without reading anything still knows exactly what to do next.
Keeping the ask this short and this visible matters for a service people often reach for at a stressful moment: the fewer decisions between arriving on the page and speaking to a person, the better.
If you run a care or care-staffing business and want a website that turns worried visitors into phone calls, we would love to talk.
Get in touchNote: the sections shown above are a curated selection from the full All Things Care website, chosen to illustrate our design and development approach, and do not represent the entirety of the live site.
